Souvenir (Memory, en francais/en anglais)

Silence / Midnight
Aucun bruit dans la rue / Not a sound from the pavement
Les lampes s'atténuent / Has the moon lost her memory?
Et la lune sourit / She is smiling alone
Lune blanche / In the lamplight
Aurais-tu perdu le souvenir / The withered leaves collect at my feet
Le vent commence à gémir / And the wind begins to moan.

Souvenir / Memory
Seule au clair de la lune / All alone in the moonlight
J'oublie mon infortune / I can smile at the old days
Je songe à mon passé / I was beautiful then
J'étais belle /I remember
Et je ne connaissais que la joie / The time I knew what happiness was
O mémoire, souviens-toi / Let the memory live again.

Flamme pâlote / Every streetlamp
Lumiére falote / Seems to beat
Un réverbére s'éteint / A fatalistic warning
Quelqu'un tousse /Someone mutters
Les ombres se poussent /And a streetlamp gutters
Bientôt ce sera demain /And soon it will be morning!

O jour / Daylight
Que ta lumière arrive / I must wait for the sunrise
Il faut que je survive / I must think of a new life
Je dois lutter encore / And I mustn't give in
A l'aurore / When the dawn comes
La nuit ne sera qu'un souvenir / Tonight will be a memory too
Un nouveau jour va venir / And a new day will begin

Heures d'angoisseet de poisse / Burnt-out ends of smoky days
Quand les lampes se meurent / The stale cold smell of morning
Dans les fumées /The streetlamp dies
De cette aube glacée / Another night is over
Un autre jour se lève / Another day is dawning!

Touche moi! / Touch me!
Ne me laisse pas seule / It's so easy to leave me
Seule avec la mémoire / All alone with the memory
De mes jours de bonheur / Of my days in the sun
Si tu oses / If you touch me
Tu sauras toute la vérité / You'll understand what happiness is

Vois... / Look...
Le soleil s'est levé... / A new day has begun...

I Dreamed A Dream

I dreamed a dream
In time gone by.
When hope was high
And life worth living.
I dreamed that love
Would never die!
I dreamed that
God would be forgiving.

Then I was young
And unafraid.
And dreams were made
And used
And wasted.
There was no ransom
To be paid!
No song unsung
No wine untasted...

But the tigers come at night.
With their voices
Soft as thunder.
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream
To SHAME...

He slept a summer
By my side...
He filled my days
With endless wonder
He took my childhood
In his stride
But he was gone
When autumn came...

And still I dreamed
He'd come to me...
That we would live the years together!
But there are dreams
That cannot be!
And there are storms
We cannot weather...

I had a dream my life would be
So different from
This hell I'm living!
So differenet now
From what it seemed...

Now life has killed the dream
I dreamed.......
